01

The brief

A growing family with two kids under five who needed sightlines and storage without losing the bones of the 1940s house.

02

The approach

Pulled the kitchen wall but kept the original hallway proportions. Mixed brass and gunmetal in the same kitchen — they read as siblings, not twins. Fluted glass anywhere a child might press their face.

03

The outcome

One open core, three quiet edges. Nine months end-to-end. Family is still there.

The transformation

Before → After

Before
Family home before — closed-off rooms, oak orange cabinetry, popcorn ceilings.
After
House of Honey after — open kitchen with mixed-metal hardware, fluted glass partitions, white-oak cabinetry.
