The brief

A living room with no focal point, fighting a dark, dated brick fireplace nobody looked at twice.

The approach

Reclad the surround in stacked stone, floated a simple mantel, and styled the hearth so the eye finally has somewhere to land. Warm metals tie it back to the rest of the room.

The outcome

The fireplace went from the thing you ignored to the thing the furniture points at.
